Ph.D. Students

The Centre has fulfilled its recruitment criteria. Some additional projects may become available and will be listed here if they are.

The Centre is currently defining PhD projects. As projects become available, they will be listed here. Expression of Interest (EoI) can then be submitted to the project lead. Once accepted to the Centre, the steps for admission will vary depending on the University and Faculty. All requirements must be met for admission.

DART is recruiting doctoral candidates with a background in chemistry interested in pursuing PhD projects in Radiochemistry with a fully-funded scholarship and monetary support for laboratory work, conferences and domestic/international travel.  The Centre experience includes hands-on radiochemical training and up to 12 months immersion with Government and Industry partners. Graduates of DART will become the next generation of highly skilled scientists needed to manufacture high-value biologically active radiochemical agents and radiopharmaceuticals.

As these scholarships will be assigned to specific individuals, the application process is a different than what you will find on the Monash application webpages.  Successful applicants need to meet both the Monash minimum qualification criteria as well as any Faculty-specific requirements.

Interview panel

Competitive candidates will be invited to an interview with the centre’s higher degree by research (HDR) committee.  This committee then recommends candidates to be accepted to the centre.

Post-Doctoral Fellowships

Up to 2 additional post doctoral fellows are expected to be recruited in the final year of the Centre (2028/2029).

The 3 appointed Post-Doctoral Research Fellows are expected to contribute to the research and teaching efforts of the DART Centre. One of each of the three positions will be located at Monash University, Victoria, the University of Melbourne, Victoria, and the University of Sydney, New South Wales with a start date of 2024/2025.

The successful applicant will engage in novel chemical research exploiting molecular incorporation of radioactive elements, stable chelation of metal radionuclides, bioconjugation methodologies, radioactivity capture via nanomaterials and cages, and the design of new peptidomimetic targeting molecules to deliver technological advances to radiopharmaceutical science. They will also contribute to the development and delivery of bespoke training in advanced radiochemical technologies and play a lead role in developing the highly-skilled workforce needed to enhance Australia’s commercial capacity to meet a rapidly escalating global radiopharmaceutical market.

The successful applicants are expected to work well with each other, across nodes and industry partners, and support HDR research projects, as well as pursuing their own projects. The postings are for 3 years with the ability to extend an additional 2 years (5 years total).
