Professional Background:

Hi, my name is Elizabeth Cook, I completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney in 2024, majoring in Chemistry and Psychological Science. The following year, I completed an Honours in Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Louis Rendina, centring on the synthesis of a series of mitochondrial targeting agents for cancer therapy and diagnosis. This involved the conjugation of chelated lanthanoids such as lutetium and terbium to various triphenylphosphonium analogues as proof-of-concept work for future radiolabelling.

Research Interests:

After the completion of my Honours degree, I sought to further investigate the theranostic applications of chelated metal ions and their radiolabelled counterparts by commencing a PhD with the same research group in July 2026. The focus of my research involves the conjugation of chelated metal ions to glutamine analogues for PET imaging and developing glutaminase targeting compounds for cancer therapy.
