Professional Background:

Hi, my name is Ella Desbrow – I completed my Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Chemistry at the University of Queensland in November 2024. My Honours project focused on the synthesis of cyclopropyl-containing fatty acid molecular probes. These probes were used to better understand the oxidation activity of a thermostable Cytochrome P450 mutant enzyme.

Research Interests:

In August 2025 I commenced my PhD at Monash University under Professor Kellie Tuck (School of Chemistry) and Dr Maggie Aulsebrook (Monash Biomedical Imaging). As a student in association with DART, my PhD will focus on the design and synthesis of novel chelators for radiopharmaceutical imaging and therapeutic purposes.  The project will hope to achieve rapid and efficient radiolabelling of these chelators in conjunction with target biomolecules such as peptides or antibodies.
