Professional Background:
Dr Joseph Ioppolo is the National Imaging Facility Radiochemistry Fellow at the University of Western Australia. Joseph supports preclinical and clinical studies utilising PET and MRI imaging at UWA, and is integrated into the cyclotron radiopharmaceutical team (RAPID) at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth. Joseph is a certified radiopharmaceutical scientist (RPS) registered with the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine, and is a current Supervisor and Assessor for RPS registrars.
Research Interests:
Dr Ioppolo’s research interests are in novel fluorine-18 synthesis and quality control methods, technology transfer and development of new radiopharmaceuticals for imaging cancer and neurodegenerative/neuroinflammatory disorders.
