Professional Background:

Hi, my name is Yuandong Wang. I completed my bachelor of biomedicine at the University of Melbourne in 2020 majoring in pharmacology. I then completed a graduate diploma following with a Master’s degree in chemistry at the University of Melbourne. My Master’s project revolved around improving the solid-phase-synthesis coupling efficiency of peptide nucleic acids as well as altering their structures in order to improve their cell-penetrating ability.

Research Interests:

Following the completion of my Master’s, I commenced my PhD at the University of Melbourne with Professor Craig Hutton in May 2025. For my PhD project, I will be trying to optimize the synthesis of F-18 Enzalutamide and analogues, potential PET imaging radiotracers specifically used for prostate cancer detection, staging, androgen receptor mapping etc.
